Some old and new friends

,a photomanipulation based on his work;he's a wiz with HDR and without it:

He's a great guy, and a great photographer:

I think his works are special at the very least:

Rules of the House
(If you're interested)
- Consider all my material copyrighted, because IT IS. I don't do stock, but if you ask first there's a fair chance I'll give permission for use in manips or for colabs.
- Please no tags and chainmail;
- Spam and nazi- or racism-related stuff will get you banned;
- Questions and well-intented advanced critique are always welcome; that's for one thing the reason why I include Exif information and my "tech notes".
My kit
- a Lumix compact camera. Effectively Panasonic electronics with a Leica lens and a Panasonic price. Has been a great inspiration to me.
- Canon EOS 350D ('Digital Rebel' in some places). Supposed to be part of the 'beginners' SLR range by Canon, but I've seen pictures taken by it that blow me sideways. It's good enough for me, and apparantly for a lot of great photographers on DA.
- Macbook. I've had several laptops, but they all had serious problems if they didn't collapse outright. I bought this one in the sales begin this year, added 1 Gb working memory and it does everything I've ever dreamed except Ms-Outlook. It almost never leaves my side unless I'm under the shower.
- A plain dual core HP-compaq desktop computer.
- For free: Irfan View on PC, great for sorting a messy picture folder and all the basic things that you don't want to do on Photoshop or Corel PSP; Preview is the imageviewer on OSX, great if you are a beginner but want to experiment with things like contrast, exposure, saturation etc., they're all in one neat window.
- Corel Paintshop Pro XI. Someone should explain me why should upgrade to X2. However, it does everything I could ask from Photoshop CS3, for a PS Elements Price.
- Photoshop CS3, because Photoshop Elements 5 died on my MacBook. I think it's overpriced, unless you have access to some cheap academic version.
