THANK YOU!
First of all, I'd like to thank all of you who supported - with money, with kind messages or both - Brian bQw, the moderator of the Street gallery. There will always be plenty to mope about regarding dA, but with so many kind supportive people about it can't be a bad place.
Currently he's looking for artwork to decorate his new artificial leg bqw.deviantart.com/journal/296… , so grab your chance to express yourself and become world famous in Taipei and on dA!
BUY A BEER
Um, not really, but let me explain myself. As you probably know, I'm blog editor with the SixbySix group. I don't really feel keen to ask for money again, but if your a person with a square heart, it could be a wise investment to contribute something to the Chipin account for the group's Supergroup status. The submission costs are higher than with the old clubs, and they will be twice as high as they are now ($120 instead of the current $60) once Groups stops being a beta feature. So, it's best to buy as much subscriptions now that they're still cheap. For now our priority is to pay our first subscription though, the current one ends in February. Free groups - groups without superstatus - lack essential tools and are not much fun to look at at all!
So, to return to the subject, if you would donate the equivalent sum of money of a now, you would in fact give the equivalent of two beers in the future and you'll reap much more aesthetic fun from the SixbySix group for a much longer time. Of course you could also give the equivalent of two beers now and effectively give the equivalent of four future And, with the number of members currently at 576, donating the equivalent of 288 (... etc.) suffices for a Group round.
Well, it would stand for quite a bit of subscription time anyway. You'll find the widget and link for the Sixbysix subscription Chipin account next to Sixbysix' new Blogspot blog, which is here: sixbysixgroup.blogspot.com/
Update: With the kind help of several people () we've collected the money for the first subscription. As of now, it's unclear whether it's possible to buy more than one subscription. So if you feel like donating, we have to ask to hold your horses for now.
HUH, A BLOG?!
Yes, on behalf of the Group, CrinaPrida has opened an extra blog outside dA, to showcase a choice of the best and squarest of the group's artists, outside of the ratrace of submissions. Look there for an exciting selection of square photography and art in general. sixbysixgroup.blogspot.com/

Abundantia - Daily Deviation
Just yesterday I arrived back from vacation, and at the first day at my desk, I discovered that my picture 'Abundantia' has become today's Daily Deviation for the Street gallery, courtesy of myraincheck (https://www.deviantart.com/myraincheck), who is one of the true treasures of the site. Thank you so much, Mary!
I don't want to heap praise on my own work, but let me just say that for me, the picture and the praise that it got represents the experience that can makes Street photography special to the photographer himself or herself. You milk many cows to get the cheese, in the words of HCB, you wear out your best shoes for years, you try to be as clever and adroit as possible
Some good journal-ists
As most of you know, I haven't written a journal in a while. I'm writing this using the new beta of the journal editor, and if you haven't got access to beta features yet, I can tell you you will like it. Pretty close to WYSIWYG (which is something I've always asked for) and great access to the art that you might want to feature. And as we're talking about journals, these people write good ones:

Absolutely top of the bill. Sometimes I feel that you could limit yourself to watching everything in Scheinbar's journals, and not miss too much. A dA on Scheinbar-level would probably be a whole lot more relevant to the

Hello all! ~eeeeeplz (https://www.deviantart.com/eeeeeplz)
It's been a while, but here I am again. I'm not giving up on dA, and especially not on the wonderful people, but there's a whole wonderful world outside it, and it's been taking some of my attention.
New guidebook
This week I got notice from my publisher that the next edition of my Malta guidebook (sorry, Dutch only) is at the printer's. It's the first edition since I went digital and got more serious into photography, so I'm quite excited about it. We were in Malta last year for a short period and we had a great time there, as always. In case you don't know Malta, it's great for all kinds of photography - Street,

Four Cantos - thanks and postage issue

Firstly, I'd like thank everybody who ~fbLikePlz (https://www.deviantart.com/fblikeplz)'ed the book or gave it a nice comment one way or another. Through Facebook weirdness I haven't been able to see who actually liked or commented it in all cases, but that book is my baby, and I appreciate your praise and approval very much. Thank you so much!
Courtesy of some kind friends I found out that there is a weird problem with the postage of my Tuscany photobook. It's fine if you live in the USA or Canada and where I live I can get a few books delivered for something like 6 euros - the Europ
