Hello all!
It's been a while, but here I am again. I'm not giving up on dA, and especially not on the wonderful people, but there's a whole wonderful world outside it, and it's been taking some of my attention.
New guidebook
This week I got notice from my publisher that the next edition of my Malta guidebook (sorry, Dutch only) is at the printer's. It's the first edition since I went digital and got more serious into photography, so I'm quite excited about it. We were in Malta last year for a short period and we had a great time there, as always. In case you don't know Malta, it's great for all kinds of photography - Street, flowers, landscape, architecture, you name it.
David Sant exhibition
For quite a long time I've followed davidsant and I love his work. He travels a lot, but whether he is shooting at home or away, I'm in awe of his technique and his eye. I was delighted to hear that he's partaking an exhibition now, called "Walks of Life". It's in the headquarters of the Maltese Tourist Organisation in Valletta, the beautiful 16th C. Auberge d'Italie. If you happen to be on Malta, the exhibition will be there until July 20. If you can't make it, visit his gallery, it's a feast for the eyes!

Abundantia - Daily Deviation
Just yesterday I arrived back from vacation, and at the first day at my desk, I discovered that my picture 'Abundantia' has become today's Daily Deviation for the Street gallery, courtesy of myraincheck (https://www.deviantart.com/myraincheck), who is one of the true treasures of the site. Thank you so much, Mary!
I don't want to heap praise on my own work, but let me just say that for me, the picture and the praise that it got represents the experience that can makes Street photography special to the photographer himself or herself. You milk many cows to get the cheese, in the words of HCB, you wear out your best shoes for years, you try to be as clever and adroit as possible
Some good journal-ists
As most of you know, I haven't written a journal in a while. I'm writing this using the new beta of the journal editor, and if you haven't got access to beta features yet, I can tell you you will like it. Pretty close to WYSIWYG (which is something I've always asked for) and great access to the art that you might want to feature. And as we're talking about journals, these people write good ones:

Absolutely top of the bill. Sometimes I feel that you could limit yourself to watching everything in Scheinbar's journals, and not miss too much. A dA on Scheinbar-level would probably be a whole lot more relevant to the

Hello everybody! :woohoo:
Four Cantos - thanks and postage issue

Firstly, I'd like thank everybody who ~fbLikePlz (https://www.deviantart.com/fblikeplz)'ed the book or gave it a nice comment one way or another. Through Facebook weirdness I haven't been able to see who actually liked or commented it in all cases, but that book is my baby, and I appreciate your praise and approval very much. Thank you so much!
Courtesy of some kind friends I found out that there is a weird problem with the postage of my Tuscany photobook. It's fine if you live in the USA or Canada and where I live I can get a few books delivered for something like 6 euros - the Europ

Dear Friends!
How many times do we say "It's a pleasure" when someone thanks us for a favour? What if you can do something for someone - or rather a lot for a lot of people - and it really is a pleasure?
The EL-SENSE (https://www.deviantart.com/el-sense) group is doing a book to support an organisation that's helping the hungry men, women and children in East Africa. Sure, from a very material, practical point it's important to give money. Please do, if you haven't done so already. All little bits help. But, as you're not just people or citizens but also artists, there's more that you can do and should do. Take a stance. Evoke. Annoy. Provoke. Move. Plead.
